There is really only two ways to live your life. By the flesh, or by the Spirit. If you live by the Spirit you will not walk according to the flesh and vice versa. You can put to death the deeds of the flesh by the Spirit. All who walk by the Spirit of God are children of God. You can walk by the Spirit through Spirit filled songs and worship, Spirit filled prayers, Spirit filled reading, Spirit filled fellowship, all of which put to death the deeds of the flesh. But if you walk according to the flesh you will fulfill the deeds of the flesh. The deeds of the flesh are present in the absence of the Spirit. Its that simple. Wherever the Spirit of God is not present, there the flesh and demonic powers inflaming the flesh are at work. Just as there are many branches to walking by the Spirit, there is likewise many branches to walk according to the flesh. If you wish to be victorious over the flesh in your life you must walk by the Spirit. If you don't, then all things you do are fleshly.
